UniFi Network Installation at a glance

What it is
A UniFi network runs on Ubiquiti hardware managed from one console: gateway and firewall, PoE switches, Wi-Fi access points, Protect cameras, and Access door readers, with no per-device license fee.
Who it’s for
Small and mid-size offices, retail stores and restaurants, clinics that need guest Wi-Fi, warehouses and shops with cameras, and businesses replacing consumer routers.
What affects cost
Small-office UniFi installs typically start from $2,500 plus hardware. The number of APs, cameras, and doors, the switch PoE budget, and whether existing UniFi gear can be adopted set the price.
Quote and timeline
A move from consumer routers happens in one after-hours cutover. The console is set up under an account your business owns.

UniFi is popular with Treasure Valley businesses because one console runs the firewall, switches, Wi-Fi, cameras, and door access, and there is no per-device license fee. The hardware is good. Most UniFi problems we get called about come from the install: access points on the wrong walls, a single flat network with guests and cameras on the same subnet, a Cloud Key nobody has the password to, and a closet full of unlabeled patch cords.

We plan the network before we hang anything. That means sizing the gateway for your internet circuit, choosing PoE switches with enough budget for every AP, camera, and phone, placing access points from a coverage plan instead of a guess, and setting up separate networks for staff, guests, voice, and cameras. Every AP and camera drop is certified Cat6 or Cat6A, and the console is set up under an owner account your business controls.

UniFi Protect gives you local camera recording without a monthly fee, and UniFi Access adds door readers that show up in the same app. If you already run UniFi, we can adopt existing gear, update firmware, and clean up the configuration. If you are replacing a mix of consumer routers and unmanaged switches, we can move you to UniFi in a single after-hours cutover.

UniFi questions, answered

Is UniFi good enough for a business network?

For most offices, retail locations, clinics, and warehouses, yes. It handles VLANs, guest portals, site-to-site VPN, and multi-site management. Very large or highly regulated environments may be better served by enterprise lines like Meraki or Aruba, which we also install.

Who owns the UniFi console after the install?

You do. We set up the console under an account your business controls and add our access only if you want ongoing support. You get the admin credentials and documentation in writing.

Can you fix an existing UniFi setup someone else installed?

Yes. We audit what is there, adopt the devices into a console you control, update firmware, separate the networks, and move access points that are in the wrong place. We tell you what is worth keeping before recommending new hardware.
